House of Blues

Who would have guessed that all that goodness could fit inside an unassuming little 5-story tin shack on Sunset Boulevard? Not me. Though I must apologize to everyone who was waiting for me to come out and say hello – you know that I always do, but this time we had a lot of friends come to visit us in the green room right after we got off stage. And by the time we got done saying hello to them, the HOB folks had mostly cleared everyone out of the building. (It’s a very nice green room, and there were beers. I’m just saying.)

But it was a great show, thanks to everyone who came out. Coming up next are Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh and dear old NYC.

Sweatiest Show Ever

I don’t have a picture otherwise I’d post it as proof, but man was it hot in that room. Also I was rocking A LOT. I may have to just throw that shirt away. Thanks to San Diego and everyone at Lestat’s, it was a really fun show despite the fact that we were all standing up and sweating like pigs. Plus Bill Corbett helped out with Chiron Beta Prime, which makes my geek heart all fluttery.

I should mention that friends of the JoCo wiki are always grateful when people who come to shows contribute details like set lists and videos and pictures and other details, so if you’ve got stuff like that, you can post it here: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/wiki/index.php/Shows_calendar. How else will historians know how to judge me?

Slept late, watched Meet the Press, drank some bad hotel room coffee. Packing up now to head to LA for the show at House of Blues tonight. I will see you there…

Show News

Holy cow Phoenix, but did you get a doozy or what? Two broken strings. I haven’t broken a string on stage in I don’t know how long, and then for a short time I broke about one string per song. Very exciting. Thank you for hanging on tightly.

A word or two about the Sunday show at the House of Blues. First, there are only 300 seats available, and last I checked we were on target to sell at least that many. The rest will be standing room, so if you want to be sure to have a seat, please plan accordingly (i.e., get there before 300 other people do).

Also, it doesn’t look like they’re going to allow audio or video recording. It’s OK with me and Paul and Storm, but House of Blues says no. If you bring a video camera, they may make you check it or something.

Also, gentlemen must wear ties. Oh, and no clapping.

This Post Has No Title

I’ve had a lovely bit of psuedo time-off (i.e., time at home trying not to stress out about things) and I am ready to “bring it” to the west coast. I have packed both the noise and the funk, even though it puts my bag over the weight limit.

Tomorrow night Phoenix. Saturday San Diego. Sunday Los Angeles.

I could use some help with selling CDs and shirts in both Phoenix and LA. You will receive a free ticket and a bear hug from either Paul or Storm (in addition, I or one of my assistants will wave at you from my private zeppelin as I float high above you and sip champagne through a caviar straw). If you’re interested, email me through that Contact link up there.

See you soon…
