Code Monkey Chords
Many have asked; I have answered – on the lyrics page for Code Monkey if you scroll down you’ll find the chords. I expect this will lead to a lot of WoW parties disintegrating into geeky singalongs, but that’s not really a bad thing when you think about it.
The First of May celebratory gig last night was great, thanks to everyone who came out. I was totally naked on stage. I busted out of the normal repertoire a bit and played Code Monkey and Re: Your Brains even though I wasn’t sure I could really play them correctly (I did though). Next time, more TAW stuff I think, if I can get some time to work a few of them out.
I Ruined Raiders
After many months of trying to get this coordinated, we have finally succeeded – Rick and Bill over at The Spoilers podcast and I did a little DVD commentary for Radiers of the Lost Ark. If you haven’t come across it before, The Spoilers is a really innovative podcast idea. They hook up over Skype and watch a movie in sync, recording a brand new commentary track with trivia and bad jokes (mine). Then you can pop in the movie and start the mp3 to ride along. I’m currently watching Last Crusade in the background from my shiny new box set: “Only the penitent man shall pass!”
Visual TAW – The Presidents
Here is Len’s image for this week – I can’t believe he didn’t take the time to draw all of the presidents. I mean, doesn’t he care about this project?
Thing a Week 30 – The Presidents
This is a song that I wrote last year for a Presidents Day edition of Little Gray Books – one small fact about every US president (thanks Wikipedia). Some of you more dedicated Coulton scholars may have already heard the live version in episode 7 of the Little Gray Books Podcast. Back then I performed it with the Hungry March Band, the most energetic stoner marching band I’ve ever seen. They played the Hail to the Chief part in between verses – since I have no marching band here, I had to make do with toy instruments. This new recording may be a little rough because there are men hammering and sawing and drilling in my kitchen all week, not exactly the best thing to have on the other side of the studio wall. You may hear some of it here and there, but hey: this is Thing a Week, people.
